Coccydynia and lumbopelvic pain are common presentations experienced by patients in both the orthopedic and pelvic health settings and results in restriction of the most basic of all functional activities – sitting.

Teaching the Chinese Olympic Committee of Physical Therapists

We taught a 7-day course on advanced manual techniques for the Pelvis and Lower Quadrant. We covered manual therapy to the pelvis, low back, hip, knee, and ankle regions of the body, as well as internal techniques for the pelvic floor and coccyx. In addition, we worked on advanced body mechanics training and exercises for the Olympic athlete, and treated the athletes for both Summer and Winter sports for an additional 7 days.

When Trauma Influences the Pelvis

Don't miss the Pelvic Education Alliance talk at the 18th PFSM (Pelvic Floor Sexual Medicine) Meeting in Southern California. We will cover physical and emotional trauma related to the pelvis, visceral and orthopedic considerations with the patient who experienced trauma, and the role of guided imagery and mediation in recovery.
